The new Tekken 8 is all set to be a big hit before its release later this week on 26th January 2024. In this blog, we will take a look at all the details you need to know before you buy this game.
The previous installment Tekken 7 was released almost six years ago and was a major hit worldwide. Therefore, Tekken 8 will have bigger shoes to fill to match its success. Unlike Tekken 7, the upcoming game will have a smaller character roster and feature-focused sets.

Tekken 8: What’s New?
The developers introduced plenty of new gameplay features in the upcoming installment. Two of the major features include the New Heat System and the Special Style Feature.
Bandai added a Special Style feature to make the game more beginner-friendly. On the other hand, the Heat System feature is introduced to allow players to build up heat energy and then use it for combos and combat options.
This feature is designed to make combat more exciting and aggressive. It will work as a tactical feature that will change the Tekken series for the better.
Tekken 8: Characters List
Tekken 7 had a handful of new characters. But in Tekken 8, the developers have decided to limit the character roster.
Instead of giving us the whole list of rosters, they reduced the number of characters this time. They announced a total of three new characters in total which include:
- Reina Mashima
- Azucena
- Victor Chevalier
These three new fighters offer an amazing range of variety and customization options. Apart from them, the game also includes 29 veteran fighters from the Tekken franchise which include:
- Panda
- Jin Kazama
- Zafina
- Lee Chaolan
- Alisa Bonsconovitch
- Devil Jin
- Shaheen
- Steve Fox
- Kuma
- Raven
- Leroy Smith
- Jack-8
- Marshall Law
- And others
The playable characters are now more detailed and improved. This aspect has made each fighter more interesting and engaging which is a welcome change.
Tekken 8: Unreal Engine 5
Another important aspect of Tekken 8 is the addition of Unreal Engine 5 which will further improve combat physics and features.
There were concerns that the use of Unreal Engine may have some negative impact on the overall performance especially in the low-end spec systems such as Steam Deck. However, after the beta testing on Steam Deck, the results were overall positive.
